I bought these to replace the original dash speakers in my 1992 Saab Convertible. The car came from the factory with a Clarion system; EQ, Tuner/Cassette head unit and Amp, which died. I had already installed a new JVC Arsenal CD/Tuner and figured the Kenwoods would sound a little crisper.Keep in mind, the originals were good quality and still sounded fine, but after 16 years I expected the technology would have gotten a bit better.

Install was a breeze reusing the factory grills. No cutting or drilling, 4 easy wire crimps to change the terminal clips, everything snapped into place, took about 1/2 hour.

So far as I can tell, the Kenwoods sound exactly the same as the factory speakers.I even hooked one each up on opposite sides of the car and couldn't tell the difference.I'm not saying they don't sound good, just no better than the original, 16 year old premium equipment.Maybe if you were pumping lots of power through them you could hear a difference, but at moderate volumes they're the same.

Conclusions:If you're replacing "factory standard cheapo" equipment, these speakers are probably worthwhile. If what's in the car was premium to start with and still sounds good, I'd think twice about spending the money.
